Vesey Home-Link home
Does it really have to be like this?
Children gone - many miles. They still keep in touch every so often - but they are busy with their own family.
Husband gone - after many years of companionship.
Visiting old friends has become a major expedition, hardly now possible.
Health is failing.
Depression and loneliness now a constant companion.
Through our volunteers (all are CRB checked) feedback is that a visit of just an hour or so a week can make such a difference to a person’s life, giving them a real sense of value and purpose and something to look forward to. All our members value the service we offer, a recent comment was “Oh you are such a comfort to me...”
We launched on 12th January 2008 and is a unique partnership between Cornerstone and five local churches in the Vesey ward. We are delighted to be sharing and resourcing this enthusiastic group to release their vision for this community.
We would like to thank the Sutton Coldfield Community Chest for helping to fund this project.
This is now our third year of this project and would like to see it improve and grow to cover a larger area, contacting many more of the isolated folk - could YOU be of help .......
For more information or if you would like to volunteer, or know someone who would value a visit from a befriender in this area, please contact:

Eileen - Vesey Home-Link Coordinator says:
Vesey Homelink is a project seeking to befriend up to forty older people in the Vesey Ward of Sutton Coldfield. By mobilising volunteers from the local community, we believe we can help house-bound older people feel valued and reduce the feeling of isolation they often feel.
